I think it was a Sunday morning. I was 7 yrs old and I would catch the 41 bus , on my own , to get there from Wychall lane I was a really keen swimmer and I loved going there. When I was older I graduated to Northfield baths.

As a child I sometimes went to see him at work and I remember the nurses from Selly Oak Hospital bringing their shoes in for repair. I loved to see them in their uniforms with flowing navy capes.
Very fond memories.

Hi Sue, sorry for the delay. Yes, we can arrange a group tour by appointment. Mondays are best when there is less room hire so you can see more! Please get in touch with me via hello@stirchleybaths.org and i’ll check availability with our volunteer guides. The price is £3 for the tour. There is also a cafe on site.
Best wishes, Suzanne Carter

I belong to a ladies group and we like to visit local places of interest, we would love to do the tour but find Sundays difficult for public transport. There would be a group of us , numbers not confirmed until we have a date but would be happy to pay in advance.

Hi Alan
Nice to hear from you. We won’t be having an event as such for a while like this, but you are more than welcome to come over to the Baths and look around; have a trip down memory lane. It is open Monday to Friday. There are guided tours of the building, run by the local history group on the first Tuesday of every month as well during Stirchley Market; just pop along one week! It would be great if you would share your memories on one of our ‘Tell Your Story’ card! Best wishes, Suzanne

Trips to the swimming pool as a pupil at Stirchley Street Secondary we all learnt to swim there. I was sorry to miss the the splash back in time trip and I wonder whether you could let me know when the next one will be.
